BREAKING NEWS  | No Hits for Townsend, Streak Ends at 20

The Attack lost to Port Carbon today by the score of 6-5 at Field of the Golden Knights, but the bigger story was the end of a hit streak. Newark left fielder Jason Townsend was working on a 20-game hitting streak, but went 0-for-4 against the Golden Knights as the hot stretch came to an end.
This season Townsend is batting .357 with 2 home runs. His totals include 11 RBIs and 6 runs scored. |
 | Crabtree Slaps 5 Hits

Thanks to Bo Crabtree and his big bat, the Surfdawgs derailed the Monterrey Sultanes de Monterrey 11-3 today at Ballpark of Monterrey. The Santa Barbara center fielder had a standout game with 5 hits in 6 at-bats.
Bo Crabtree grounded out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, doubled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th, singled in the 9th and hit a two-run single in the 9th.
For the season Crabtree has produced 10 hits in 21 at-bats for a .476 average with no home runs and gotten on base at a .625 clip. |
| Hitting Streak Still Alive for Townsend
Monday, April 9th, 2068
Jason Townsend of the Newark Attack just keeps going and going. The hot-hitting left fielder went 2-for-6 in his team's 14-5 victory over the Detroit Diesels at Diesels Ballpark and extended his hitting streak to 20 games.
"He is definitely on a roll right now" said a Diesels pitcher. "I thought I made some good pitches against him, but he's a good hitter and hit 'em anyway."
When asked about his performance, Townsend said, "I don't care if I go hitless as long as we get the win."
Jason Townsend hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, flied out in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
Townsend is hitting .417 this season with 2 home runs, 11 RBIs and 4 runs scored. He has 10 hits in 24 at-bats. |
